CEM Exam for a Better Test of Knowledge

The CEM Exam is one of the best examination formats ever. And it is designed to test the knowledge of the student truly. This exam format can determine how knowledgeable or otherwise the student is in certain subject areas, and it has been used for many years already, with many institutions insisting that it is a better exam format than the GL exam, which many claims are too predictive. On the other hand, the CEM Exam is said to be less predictive and can adequately test the students. Be that only selected institutions have adopted the CEM Exam in state schools and independently owned schools as it may. The exam format was created by the 11 plus exam papers, a team of academicians, editors, and authors with experience in the education industry.

What are those specific things that the CEM Exam entails? Continue reading to learn more about this.

What the CEM Exam entails

The CEM Exam follows several similar concepts to what you can find in the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Be that as it may, different institutions and regions may have a different curriculum, and they can even decide to offer any particular subject as part of the 11 plus exam papers.  Flexibility is one of the features that make the CEM Exam truly stand out from the others. Just as is the case with the GL Exam, the CEM Exam does not have any particular format and can also record changes from one year to another. Whenever such a change occurs, the school will send information to you as the parent about the new structure that the exam is to take.  To make things easier and get informed ahead of time, you will do well to get in touch with the school and learn about the new format the test will be taking for that particular year.

How GL differs from CEM

GL and CEM exams are related in a way. For example, the knowledge you acquire while preparing for the verbal reasoning exam in CEM can be useful for tackling the English language exam in GL. While the two have shown similarities, there are also some areas of difference that should be mentioned. In CEM Exam, both non-verbal reasoning and Mathematics are combined; verbal reasoning and English language are also combined. Instead of the student writing mathematics, English, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning exams as is the case with GL Exam, the student will only sit for non-verbal and verbal reasoning in the CEM exam.
